The ceremonial event was attended by Vladimir Karpov, Deputy Head of Department of Crude Oil and Petroleum Products Sales of JSC TATNEFT, management representatives of JSC "TANECO" and Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M. Gorky as well as representatives of the ship owning companies.

The tanker "Almetyevsk" of RST25 project manufactured by Zelenodolsk plant n.a. A.M. Gorky is the first serial tanker built at the shipyard of the Republic of Tatarstan. Special requirements of Russian and international oil companies and exclusive environmental requirements ECO ("CLEAN DESIGN" in the DNV designation) were taken into account in the process of its engineering.

Implementation of the project "Complex of Refining and Petrochemical Plants" was launched in 2005 with the aim of developing a new stage of the refining industry in Tatarstan. The construction was initiated by the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and TATNEFT Company.

A key objective of the Project is to provide a high-tech, efficient and environmentally friendly processing of crude oil with the output of competitive marketable products. The facilities of the First start-up complex produce gasoline, heating oil, technical kerosene, liquefied petroleum gas, vacuum gas oil, fuel mazut and sulfur. Completion of the Project implementation envisages production of a wide range of high added value products of deep oil conversion, including motor fuels of Euro-5 standard.

The first phase of the "TANECO" Oil Refining and Petrochemical Plants Complex has been in a steady commercial operation since December 2011. Only in 2012 its facilities processed more than 7 million tons of crude oil with production of 980,563 tons of straight-run gasoline, 1,599,323 tons of vacuum gas oil, 2,019,731 tons of commercial mazut, 2,137,893 tons of domestic heating oil and a number of other products.

Currently, the products of "TANECO" are shipped to consumers on the year-round basis by rail, over-the-road truck transport, pumped through the pipeline and they are also transported by waterway during the navigation season.
