Baltic NPP: August plant has been fulfilled by 127.5%
 The results of the works, implemented in August at Baltic NPP, which is under construction (Neman city, Kaliningrad region), have been summarized. The plan has been fulfilled by 127.5%.
The works are being held at 25 facilities (the scheduled number of facilities was 21), the financing has comprised 220.74 million rubles, since the beginning of the year – 1,041.43 million rubles.
The foundation area for main buildings of power unit No.1 has been half-constructed. The installation and construction works at energy and transport facilities and communication are being implemented. The construction and repair of the automobile road to the nuclear plant site are being held. The erection of the security building base plate has been started.
The number of workers, involved in the NPP construction, has also increased. If at the beginning of August there were 396 people, then now there are 450 people, 372 of which are citizens of Kaliningrad region. The works at the construction site engage 160 units of construction and other special machinery.
In September it is planned to implement works at the cost of 247.0 million rubles.
The foundation stone of Baltic nuclear power plant was laid on February 25, 2010 in Neman district of Kaliningrad region. The plant is being constructed upon the NPP-2006 project and will consist of two power units of total capacity equal to 2,300 mW. The first power unit is to be started up in 2016, and the second – in 2018. The purpose of the plant is to supply power to Kaliningrad region and abroad. For the first time in the Russian nuclear power industry private investors including foreigners are offered to participate in the project. They can get a share of up to 49% in the Baltic NPP project. At present negotiations with potential investors continue.
