Yellow buses - green energy

DONG Energy participates in the project to draw attention to the advantages of using alternative energy sources and to get first-hand experience which will contribute to the analysis of the long-term potential.

"Our core business is to supply reliable energy without CO2. Therefore, we enter into climate partnership agreements and other agreements which promote energy efficient solutions and renewable energy sources, or which contribute in other ways to a sustainable development. Electric buses may fit into this strategy down the road so we participate to gather experience in the long-term," said Torben Harring, Vice President in DONG Energy.

The project will also test the possibilities for flexible power consumption in connection with recharging of the buses. During the test period, the operators are offered a special time-differentiated grid tariff making it attractive to recharge the buses outside peak periods. DONG Energy Eldistribution is responsible for this test.
