TATNEFT Continues Rendering Maintenance Services in Turkmenistan

Over 13,000 tons of crude oil have been additionally produced from the wells put into operation.

The purpose of the contract is to bring in new equipment and technologies, proven in the fields of JSC TATNEFT, for increasing crude oil production in the wells of Goturdepe field.

The active phase of the wells workover and putting them back into operation began in February 2012. "Tatneftesnab" Administration organized delivery of equipment and materials. Totally, equipment and materials valued more than U.S.$8 million were imported for the work in Turkmenistan.

9 wells have been put in operation since February last year for the purpose of increasing oil recovery. Currently, the average daily production has exceeded 50 tons. Workover operations are carried out by the workover crews of JSC TATNEFT's Branch in Turkmenistan.
A production and utility base has been set up and commissioned to date at Goturdepe field. 100 jobs have been created, including 70 recruited Turkmen specialists and the system of monitoring the existing wells operation has been deployed with application of the automation system. Teamwork of two workover crews manned by professionals from Tatarstan and Turkmenistan has been organized.

The wells stock in the south-eastern part of Goturdepe field is complicated with high gas/oil ratio, paraffin depositions in the tubing string, formation of sand plugs, corrosive crude products, customized well designs and a variety of complications in operating downhole equipment, as well as a complex tectonic structure of the oil-bearing deposits with the presence of geological faults.

JSC TATNEFT has a wide range of various technologies, equipment and experience to solve the abovementioned problems, including sidetracking, application of coil-tubing units, application of plaster patches for insulation of production string defects, etc. These technologies are planned for application in the further implementation of the contract.

The State Concern "Turkmenneft" creates necessary conditions promoting cooperation development on a wide range of issues of advanced technologies application and sharing the experience for the contract implementation. The partnership in the field of oil and gas production between JSC TATNEFT and the State Concern "Turkmenneft" at Goturdepe field conduces to the strengthening of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation of the oilmen of Tatarstan and the Republic of Turkmenistan.
Relations between JSC TATNEFT and the SC "Turkmenneft" develop in the frame of cooperation formalized by the relevant Agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and Turkmenistan dated June 28, 2008 and the Protocol on cooperation in the oil and gas sector signed between JSC TATNEFT and the State Concern "Turkmenneft" in July 2008.
In February 2011, JSC TATNEFT received an official document of registration of the Company's Branch Office in Turkmenistan: Certificate (SAHADATNAMA), issued by the Ministry of Economy and Industrial Development of the Republic of Turkmenistan.
