COTES completed large project in Ekibastuz
 COTES has completed design work for the rehabilitation and upgrading of power unit No.8 in the Ekibastuzskaya GRES-1 power plant. Its main equipment includes boiler P-57-3M with steaming capacity 1650 t/h and 500 MW turbine K-500-240-2.
Within the project the COTES Group has completed the development of detail design documentation for various units including mechanical equipment, structural drawings, as well as utility systems and equipment of the main building (cycle arrangement, thermal insulation, ventilation systems, water treatment plant, mechanization for repairs).
Moreover, the company was responsible for the development of projects for boiler equipment repairs and development of projects for organization of works for boiler and turbine island. COTES has also provided an expert review of industrial safety of existing power unit equipment.
Construction-and-erection operations are under way. The power unit is scheduled to be in operation in 2012.
