43 hydrocarbon vapor recovery units (VRU) are operated at the Company's facilities. Usage of VRUs has not only improved the condition of air medium, but also enabled to reduce process losses from tanks. Since the early introduction of VRUs (1991), hydrocarbon emissions into the atmosphere have been reduced by 4.5 times with additional recovery of 1.4 million tons of hydrocarbon raw materials. The volume of hydrocarbons recovered by these units in the tank farms of OAO TATNEFT in 2010 amounted to approximately 60 thousand tons
Total emission of pollutants into the air has been decreased by 3.15 times (68%) as a result of air protection measures taken at the scale of the whole Company for the last 20 years. All emissions from stationary sources into the atmosphere are within the established standards for maximum allowable emissions.
