Preliminary feasibility study to switch Cherepetskaya GRES to off-design fuel
 COTES together with the Machine Building Factory of Podolsk has developed a preliminary feasibility study for refurbishment of boiler for power unit No. 7 of the Cherepetskaya GRES. Refurbishment will also cover fuel supply line and pulverized coal preparation system to switch the power unit to burning of off-design Kuznetsky long-flame gas coal.
Implementation of the project is necessitated by easier availability of this coal to the Customer.
In the course of work the specialists from COTES have carried out detailed inspection of all systems. The engineers have developed economic assessment and two variants of technical proposals and measures for upgrading of boiler and fuel supply line. One of key objectives of the refurbishment was to ensure safety through a number of measures because of higher explosion hazard of this rank of coal. The work has been completed within 3 months.
