The first SPM was implemented in accordance with the schedule of the program of powering and capacity development of the power unit.
The SPM was carried out by the NPP specialists together with Atomenergoremont OJSC and installation contractors.
In order to ensure the power unit’s safe operation the following works were performed on the main production equipment during the repair: check of the main equipment metal of the reactor installation (the reactor vessel, main circulation lines, heat-exchange pipes of steam generators), inspection of a generator, condenser, high-pressure heater, main circulating pumps, turbines and other power unit equipment.
Rostov NPP is a branch of Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The nuclear power plant is located on the bank of Tsimlyansk Reservoir 13.5 km far from Volgodonsk city. Power Unit No.1 which was put into commercial operation in 2001, has the operated VVER-1000-type pressurized water reactor with an installed capacity of 1000 MW. The physical start-up of Power Unit No 2 with the reactor of the same type was carried in December, 2009. Power Unit No 2 undergoes the stage of experimental-industrial pilot production. Power Units Nos. 3 and 4 are being constructed.
The general contractor forPower Units Nos. 2, 3 and 4 of Rostov NPP is OJSC Nizhny Novgorod Engineering Company Atomenergoproekt. The company is part of an integrated company Atomenergoprom. OJSC.
Customer-builder functions are performed by constructed Rostov NPP Capital Construction Management which is a branch of the Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC.
