This is an extremely significant event that acknowledges the recognition from the side of the Chinese Customer of the high level of the project implementation by the Russian general contractor. On the part of the Customer the Protocols have been signed by JNPC General Director, Mr. Jiang Ghoyuan, and from the side of the General Contractor – by First Vice-President of JSC «Atomstroyexport», Mr. Alexander Nechaev.
As First Vice-President of JSC “Atomstroyexport” Alexander Nechaev declared, the completion of the first stage of the project of Tianwan NPP is the result of great work carried out by State Corporation “Rosatom” and JSC “Atomstroyexport” in cooperation with the Chinese Customer.
- Today Tianwan NPP is the most powerful and the safest nuclear power plant in China, reliable, stable, with good economic figures of operation. And that’s why the confidence of the Chinese specialists towards the Russian atomic technologies is at the top level, - Alexander Nechaev said.
The implementation of Tianwan NPP project has given the most important references to JSC “Atomstroyexport”: at present day “Atomstroyexport” is the only company in the world having operating power units of new generation in its total supplies.
The first stage of Tianwan NPP includes two power units with WWER-1000 reactor facilities with the electric power of 1060 MWt each. From the technical point of view Tianwan NPP is the unique combination of the best Russian and European technologies. The reactor building is covered with a double reactor cover, under the reactor vessel “the corium catcher” is fixed that can catch and put a damper on the molten core. «The catcher» has original design solutions that have no analogues in the world practice of NPP construction. China has become the first country possessing the similar device. At the plant the four-channel structure of safety systems has been introduced, combination of active and passive safety facilities is applied, control and monitoring digital system is operating.
The total two-year warranty period of operation life of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant was successfully completed in 2009. For some units of the equipment the General Contractor of JSC “Atomstroyexport” fixed the extended warranty period. Thus, the five-year period of warranty operation has been fixed for the Main Circulating Pump (MCP). It is connected with the fact that for the first time in the world practice the Main Circulating Pumps of a new type had been applied in Tianwan NPP – with water and not oil cooling. In the conditions of the nuclear power plant it is an essential factor increasing the safety of the NPP. At present the MCPs of new design are operating stable being a particular example of replenishment of portfolio of “Atomstroyexport” references and increasing the competitiveness of the Company.
- Having signed the Protocols on Final Acceptance of the 1-rst and 2-nd power units of the plant, we are continuing effective cooperation with our Chinese partners , - Alexander Nechaev declared. – The Frame Contract for construction of the second stage of Tianwan NPP has been signed between JSC «Atomstroyexport» and JNPC.
On the 23-rd of March, 2010 JSC «Atomstroyexport» (JSC ASE) and Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) signed the Frame Contract for construction of the second stage of Tianwan NPP. From the side of JNPC the Contract was signed by JNPC General Director, Mr. Jiang Ghoyuan, from the side of JSC “Atomstroyexport” – by President of the Company, Dan Belenkiy.
JSC “Atomstroyexport” (JSC ASE) is a leading engineering company of State Corporation “Rosatom” on construction of nuclear power facilities abroad. At present, “Atomstroyexport” is the contractor implementing construction contracts, including “turn- key” ones, for five nuclear power units abroad simultaneously, and, besides, the only enterprise of such profile possessing already NPP reference units of new generation (Tianwan NPP in China). JSC ASE rests upon а semicentennial experience of the Russian nuclear power industry, state-of-art management and innovation technologies that gives an opportunity to the Company to implement equally large-scale and unique projects charged to it in the framework of bilateral intergovernmental agreements, as well as a result of triumph in open international biddings.
