The document signed in Jakarta is aimed at fostering cooperation between the parties in the fields of research, education and training in nuclear science and technology to support nuclear infrastructure development and establishment of sustainable nuclear energy system.

“Signing of this MoU is a milestone in the development of our institute’s partnership with such an experienced and competent partner as BATAN. We are ready to fully share our vast experience with Indonesian partners in the areas of personnel training and development of the nuclear industry scientific base. ROSATOM-CICE&T has practical agreements with IAEA on common work in this field, and our programmes have already contributed significantly to the establishment of nuclear infrastructure in such newcomer countries as Bangladesh and Vietnam”, said at the signing ceremony Yuriy Seleznev, Rector of ROSATOM-CICE&T.

The Russian institute and the Indonesian agency agreed on partnership in such fields as exchange of learning materials, lecturers exchange, and distance education. The parties are planning to organise joint symposia, workshops, and internships.

The signed document is also among the steps towards the implementation of the MoU concluded on June 2 in Moscow between the ROSATOM and BATAN at the ATOMEXPO 2015 International Forum. In this regard, ROSATOM Asia, a Singapore located regional office of ROSATOM for South-East Asia, will be rendering support to the implementation of the MoU between BATAN and ROSATOM-CICE&T.

“Skilled personnel and the established scientific base are the cornerstones of the successful nuclear energy development in any country. Thus it is quite logical that we start implementation of the memorandum between ROSATOM and BATAN with this important step”, noted Egor Simonov, Director of ROSATOM Asia.
