The opening ceremony has been attended by Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Nail Maganov, General Director of TATNEFT Joint Stock Company, Aydar Metshin, Head of Nizhnekamsk Municipal District, and Shafagat Takhautdinov, Assistant to President of the Republic of Tatarstan on the Oil Industry Issues, General Director of JSC TATNEFT from 1999 to November 2013.
The honorary right of pushing the symbolic CHU start button was conferred to Nail Maganov, General Director of JSC TATNEFT, Leonid Alekhin, General Director of JSC TANECO, and Nicholay Zaikin, Head of the JSC TATNEFT's Construction Projects Implementation Department.
Dmitry Medvedev congratulated the managers and employees of the TATNEFT" Group Companies with the beginning of a new installation, operation pointing out that there was a full-fledged production of light petroleum products, created at TANECO" including Euro-5 diesel fuel, aviation kerosene of three grades and oils with implementation of all best environmental standards. The Prime Minister emphasized the role of TANECO in supporting Russian manufacturers.
The large-scale project of TATNEFT has become a powerful stimulus for the development of the mechanical engineering industry, petrochemicals production, construction, metallurgy, engineering, materials engineering, science, and the social sphere. Large orders were placed with the domestic industrial enterprises: amalgamated mechanical engineering works (Uralmash-Izhora Group), at "ATOMMASH", "Uralkhimmash", "Petrozavodskmash" Bugulma Engineering Plant and others. Over two thousand Russian enterprises were involved as suppliers of equipment and materials in the construction of JSC TANECO. More than 2,500 jobs were created at the TANECO Complex in Nizhnekamsk.
Addressing the audience, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, has thanked Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the country/ for their assistance and support in the implementation of the project, pointing out that an infrastructure for further development and coming to the level of processing 14 million tons of crude oil has been created at TANECO today.
In the final part of the ceremony Prime Minister of the Russian Federation presented state awards to workers and specialists of JSC TANECO and TATNEFT Company who made a great contribution to the construction of the Complex.
