SUEK produced 46.3m tonnes of coal in january-june 2014
 In the first half of 2014 OJSC SUEK (OJSC Siberian Coal Energy Company) produced 46.3m tonnes of coal, which is a 5% decrease compared to the same period last year.
Sales volumes fell by 6% over the same period to 44.4 m tonnes of coal.
International sales volumes grew by 7% to 22.4m tonnes of coal in the first half of the year, while exports of coal increased by 6% to 20.2m tonnes. Key export markets include China, Britain, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and Germany.
Domestic sales declined by 6%. Russian consumers bought 22m tonnes of coal, of which 17.2m tonnes were supplied to electric power plants. The decline in domestic sales was driven by weakening demand for coal due to the mild winter, increased hydropower electricity generation and abundant stocks in coal fired power plants.
