The equipment is intended for testing and determining mechanical properties of metals and alloys on part samples of external supply, castings of domestic production and welded joints of hydroturbine runners. Testing will be carried out by extension, compression and static bending methods. During the testing, the laboratory staff will determine ultimate strength and yield strength limit of materials and its relative elongation.

The tensile-testing machine has a number of additional opportunities the system is completed with a furnace for testing samples at elevated temperatures, which is able to provide accuracy of heating of the sample ± 2 ° C in the temperature range 300 - 1200 ° C. The structure of the machine frame also allows to complete with special devices for performing extended complex of mechanical tests and identifying additional characteristics of mechanical properties.

The implementation of the system will allow to increase the reliability and accuracy of the obtained results. The machine is equipped with the modern software Bluehill 3, owning to it the labor content of performed operations will reduce. The new equipment will give the opportunity to improve the quality of the manufactured products in accordance with the international standards.

According to the Chief Engineer Gregoriy Ishchenko, the equipment will be put into operation until the end of the current year. The Specialists of Instron company will begin training the laboratory staff.
