Turboatom is mastering new equipment
 The specialists of OJSC "Turboatom" started to mastering two portable coordinate measuring machines (hands) FARO Prime (Switzerland, USA) with the software Delcam and PowerShape.
FARO Prime with operating range of 3.7 m will be installed in the workshop of mechanical assembly and welding manufacture (No 72), with a range of 1.2 m – in the hydro turbine laboratory.
The introduction of the measuring arm will allow the workshop No 72 to accelerate and simplify the layout of Francis-type blades of hydro turbines for its further processing and also to reduce the cycles of production preparation.
The use of measuring machine in the hydro turbine lab will ensure the reliability and accuracy in the measurement of such tasks as reverse engineering. In particular, in transferring sizes from a full-scale model to electronic form for the subsequent construction of a mathematical model. PowerShape system allows you to design mathematical models of hydraulic turbines blades of any complexity, as well as easy and fast editing.
In general, the use of measuring arms allow "Turboatom" reduce the cost of the large equipment, as well as in 1.5 - 2 times reduce the number of transport operations, involving the use of a powerful lifting equipment. Also reduce the complexity of the most marking operations by 20 - 30%.
"Turboatom" has already had experience with such equipment, since 2007 in the hydro-turbine workshop (No 83) during the markup of the blades used measuring arm CimCore INFINITE.
