Transneft East is increasing Throughput Capacity Oil Pipeline the Skovorodino – Mohe to 30 Million Tonnes

The construction of a 50,000 m3 oil storage tank (VST) at Skovorodino PS-21 (Amur Region) is coming to the end; the construction of two vertical floating-roof steel tanks (VFRSTs) with the total capacity of 100,000 m3 has started at Taishet PEPS-1 (Irkutsk Region) within the implementation of stage 4.

The tanks and associated infrastructure must be erected in the course of the construction works. Preliminary earthwork operations and drilling of pilot holes for piles have commenced. The excavation under one of the tanks is in progress and 270 of 1,421 piles have been already driven for the second VFRST.

In total, 2,842 piles will be installed under both VFRSTs. The casting of the foundation will start in Q3 of 2016, after these operations are completed.

Stage 4 of the programme for increasing the pipeline throughput capacity also includes the updating of the unified control system (UCS) of the oil pipeline at Taishet PEPS-1.  Completion of the programme for increasing the Skovorodino – Mohe OTP throughput capacity to 30 million tonnes is planned for Q4 of 2017.

Another main pump unit was added to the equipment used for oil transfer towards PRC at stages 1 and 2 of the programme for increasing the Skovorodino – Mohe OTP throughput capacity to 30 million tonnes; process units within the Skovorodino – Mohe OTP facilities system were equipped with additional automated systems and pipeline valves. An additional (fourth) oil quantity and quality measuring system (OQQMS) was installed and the existing microprocessor-based automation system and unified control system, including the supervisory control and data acquisition system, updated at the Dzhalinda pipeline metering station (PMS).
