The Work on Oil Displacement from Yaroslavl-Kirishi 2 Oil Trunk Pipeline Has Been Completed as Part of Sever Project Development

The Work on Oil Displacement from Yaroslavl-Kirishi 2 Oil Trunk Pipeline Has Been Completed as Part of Sever Project Development Transneft Baltic, LLC has completed the work on oil displacement on the Yaroslavl – Kirishi 2 oil trunk pipeline section with the length of 521 km being a part of activities for pipeline transportation of diesel fuel.

The work on the displacement of oil was carried out as part of the Trunk pipeline system development for increasing the oil products supply in Primorsk Port project (Sever Project).

The preparations for pipeline transportation of diesel fuel include not only the displacement of oil but also installation and repairs, and besides, cleaning of the pipeline from asphalt, resin, and paraffin deposits (ARPD) using chemical reagents.

Currently, Transneft Baltic, LLC is working on the installation of temporary PIG traps and medium repair of valves with a steam cleaning of the internal cavity and filling vane valve spaces with diesel fuel.

During the next stage Transneft Baltic, LLC will work on the cleaning the internal surface of the pipelines from oil residues and wall deposits.

It is scheduled to start the diesel fuel transportation by the redeveloped pipeline in 2016.
