Revamping the Fleet of Automotive Vehicles and Special-Purpose Machines of Transneft Siberia

The purchased vehicles and machines are intended for revamping of the fleet of the central repair departments, for retrofitting of the firefighting services at the branches of the company, and for equipping of the departments of support service vehicles and special-purpose machines. Out of that number, 157 units were delivered to the Urengoy Oil Trunk Pipeline Department (Urengoy OTPD) for the subdivisions servicing the Zapolyarye – Purpe oil pipeline.

For repair works to be carried out on the oil pipeline sections running through swamps falling into categories II and III, the Uray OTPD received the vehicles designed to travel over snow-covered, marshy and flooded areas. These are two tracked snow- and-swamp-going vehicles equipped with a water-removal unit and an articulated crane as well as an amphibious excavator, which can travel on terrain and can float in the water.

All the new automotive vehicles and special-purpose machines are equipped with GLONASS systems – in 2014 Transneft Siberia, JSC, installed the navigation equipment in its automotive vehicles, road-building machines and diesel power plants.

For the purpose of monitoring of the operation of special-purpose machines in the trunk pipeline protected zones, 144 excavators and 77 bulldozers were equipped with operation area video surveillance systems in 2014. The video surveillance systems help to improve safety of earthwork carried out within the linear section of trunk pipelines and timely detect the factors that may endanger the safety and reliability of operation of trunk pipelines.
