State Committee Confirms “Enel Ogk-5” Power Plants’ Readiness For Autumn And Winter Period

The State Committee on inspection of energy bodies’ readiness for the autumn-winter period carried out an integrated inspection of OJSC “Enel OGK-5” facilities between October 22nd and 30th, 2013. The commission was composed by representatives of the Russian Federation Ministry of Energy and of the Federal Service for Environmental, Technological, and Nuclear Supervision, as well as representatives from the “System operator of the Unified Energy System (UES)” and technical managers and specialists of OJSC “Enel OGK-5”.  Basing on the results of the commission’s work, the “Act on OJSC “Enel OGK-5” readiness for operation during 2013–2014 autumn and winter period” was prepared and Certificates of readiness of the Company and its branches for autumn and winter were issued.

Preparatory works for autumn-winter operations at the power plants were held in full compliance with the Regulations of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation “On checking readiness of energy entities for operation in autumn and winter period”.

According to the conclusion of the Committee, at all OJSC “Enel OGK-5” power plants all necessary activities to ensure operation reliability and technological safety at low temperatures have been implemented. Within the framework of winter preparation maintenance works,   fuel supply contracts have been concluded, reserves of backup fuel have been prepared, relevant emergency response trainings have been carried out, the readiness of boilers for operating on backup fuel has been checked, the personnel has been provided with work wear, safety shoes and other personal protection equipment.

The activities aimed at preparing OJSC “Enel OGK-5” power plants for operation during 2013–2014 autumn and winter period have been performed in line with the established schedule. OJSC “Enel OGK-5” power plants  are now ready to ensure reliable operations at maximum loads and security of heat and electricity supply to consumers during the entire period.
