Pripyat Depression to Become a Testing Ground for Modern Technologies

Russian and Belarusian parties have signed a draft program detailing top-priority activities for the forthcoming year. In fact, implementation of the document has essentially been started, Visha-Thermogas project chosen as the pilot one. Visha field is to become a ground for testing the thermal gas impact technology. Belarus-Russia cooperation plans also envisage exchange of experience between research laboratories. In particular, specialists of the BelNIPIneft Institute, which is Belorusneft’s subdivision, plan a probation training at the VNIINeft Institute (All-Russian Research and Scientific Institute of Oil) in 2012 to study methods and equipment for dynamic penetration testing of chemical compounds. The Russians, in their turn, were mostly interested in static and dynamic research of polymeric and other compounds to enhance reservoir recovery.
