TNK-BP to Build Oil and Gas Treatment Unit at Zagorskaya Group of Fields

TNK-BP is planning to build an oil and gas treatment unit (OGTU) at the Zagorskaya group of fields in Novosergievskiy District as part of its Orenburg integrated project. The project will almost entirely eliminate flaring of associated gas and minimize air emissions within the region.

“The Zagorskaya OGTU has been designed to handle 550 million cubic metres of gas and over 1.5 million tonnes of oil per year”, says Oleg Pantyushin, head of the Bobrovskaya group of fields at Orenburgneft. “For comparison, the Vakhitovskaya unit in Perevolotskiy District with a capacity of 210 million cubic metres of gas is currently one of the biggest.”
TNK-BP is also planning to build new gas pipelines to pump gas from the Zagorskaya OGTU to the Orenburg and Zaikinskiy gas processing plants. Preparatory work and economic calculations for the Zagorskaya OGTU are now underway and a tender has been announced for construction planning and survey work.
