E.ON Connecting Energies LLC launches a decentralised energy solution for METRO Cash & Carry in Nizhny Novgorod05.09.16 08:54
E.ON Connecting Energies LLC (ECE) – a joint venture of Unipro PJSC and E.ON Connecting Energies GmbH – launched an 800kW combined heat and power plant (CHP) at the METRO shopping centre in Nizhny Novgorod. The CHP will heat the store and meet a portion of its electricity needs.
The ECE experts developed a customised, decentralised electric power and heat generation solution that will significantly lower the store’s energy cost and reduce its carbon emissions by up to 20%. This state-of-the art CHP consists of two gas-fired units with an electrical capacity of 400 kW each. It is operating using reservation in parallel with the centralised power network. In the base mode, the store will be receiving power from the CHP. In case of peak loads, the shortage will be made up by importing the lacking electric power from the centralised network.
