Equipment manufactured by Power Machines has been commissioned at Raahe TPP (Finland)

Contract for manufacture and supply of the equipment for the new - the second one - electric power unit of Raahe TPP was concluded between consortium Power Machines - Energico Oy and company Ruukki Oy (currently "SSAB / Raahen Voima Oy"). The Project was implemented in record breaking time – 2 years and 3 months have passed from signing of the contract to commissioning.

In accordance with the conditions of the contract Power Machines has designed, manufactured and delivered to the customer a steam turbine complete with a turbogenerator. In addition, the obligations of the Russian power engineering company included supervision over installation and commissioning. Finnish partners in terms of the consortium provided delivery of the auxiliary equipment and execution of assembly operations.

Start-up of the new electric power unit took place on June 30, 2016. As a result TPP capacity will be 120 MW, besides, the turbo generator of the first electric power unit will be decommissioned on reserve and removed from operation.

At the present time within Raahe TPP one electric power unit with a capacity of 50 MW is being operated, which basic equipment (turbine and generator) was manufactured in 1950s by "Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod" and "Electrosila" Plant, being part of the Power Machines company.
