Belarusian and Russian experts evaluated the execution of the project “Visha-Thermogas”

During the visit to Gomel the representatives of Zarubezhneft held talks with the management and the experts of Belnipineft R&D Institute. The participants analysed  the execution of current pilot work, estimated the situation directly at the wells of Vishanskoye oil field and planned some further activities.

Let us point out that the pilot work for implementation of thermal gas stimulation technology on the intersalt deposit of  Vishanskoye oil field was started in July of 2014. The new method of production stimulation involves injection of compressed air and water mixture into a reservoir, where due to its natural energy - oxidation   and thermodynamic processes – the air transforms into carbon dioxide gas or light hydrocarbons. It is considered that while mixing with these displacing agents, heated oil becomes mobile and gets involved into development more actively.  

In the course of testing of the new technology it was registered the increase of production potential due to increase of formation pressure in the air injection zone. With that, according to the experts, it is still too soon to evaluate the complex of technological operations that have been carried out. It is a new method for belarusian oilmen, and it is quite complicated and requires a balanced approach  and accurate study of all technical nuances.
