ZiO-Podolsk has shipped second steam generator for Tianwan NPP

The equipment will be installed at Unit 4 of the plant under construction. OKB Gidropress and EC ZIOMAR developed the detailed design and working design documentation.

Steam generators PGV-1000M are designed for thermal capacity of 753 MW and can be operated up to 40 years. The steam generator PGV-1000М is super oversized cargo. Its diameter is slightly more than 4 meters, height is 5 meters, length with loading fixtures is about 16 meters, and weight with the tooling is 378 tons.

Tianwan NPP was built in the PRC to the advanced Russian design and termed by most of experts as the safest plant among those operated worldwide. In 2007, Units 1 and 2 were started up. Their installed electric power capacity is 1000 MW each and they were built to AES-91 design. The steam generators which were manufactured by ZiO-Podolsk for Units 1 and 2 of Tianwan NPP, were supplied to the customer in 2002 and have been in operation since 2007. In 2014, the works manufactured and supplied to the plant a complete set of equipment, i.e. four steam generators with the complete parts for Unit 3.
