RusHydro and Power Machines sign a comprehensive replacement contract for hydropower units at Votkinskaya HPP

RusHydro and Power Machines have signed a contract providing for comprehensive replacement of ten hydropower units at Votkinskaya HPP. The contract signing was preceded by a tender, which was won by Power Machines with the best technical and economic solution.

Pursuant to the contract, Power Machines will design, manufacture and supply ten equipment sets to the Customer, each set consisting of an adjustable-blade hydroturbine complete with an automatic control system, a hydrogenerator and hydropower unit auxiliaries. The contract also includes installation, installation supervision and pre-commissioning of hydraulic equipment. The hydropower units of Votkinskaya HPP have been in service since 1966 and will be replaced under RusHydro’s Comprehensive Renovation Program.

The contract is scheduled to be performed until 2025. The project implementation will increase the plant’s capacity by 130 MW to 1150 MW (10 hydropower units of 115 MW each).
There are currently ten hydropower units operated at Votkinskaya HPP (two 110 MW units and eight 100 MW units), that were manufactured by Power Machines companies – Leningradsky Metallichesky Zavod and Electrosila – in the 1960s.
