Gazprom wins trial over Moncrief Oil International

This judgement was passed during the case consideration by the jury, after Gazprom’s representatives had managed to prove that the plaintiff’s main document which had constituted the basis for the claim was fabricated. As a result, the plaintiff waived the claim and pledged not to file other claims against Gazprom or its affiliates in future.

This was the third attempt of Moncrief Oil International to take acknowledgment through the court of its alleged right to participate in the Yuzhno-Russkoye gas and condensate field development. The two previous legal proceedings initiated by Moncrief Oil International before the US courts in 2005 and the courts of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2007 were also decided in favor of Gazprom.
