Rimera Develops New Energy-Efficient Equipment for Rosneft

Rimera's Almetyevsk-based plant Alnas has manufactured an electric motor with a higher voltage rating for Rosneft-Stavropolneftegaz, which reduces power consumption by more than 25% during oil production.

The Size 103 submersible electric motor rated for 32 kW with an increased voltage rating comes complete with a high temperature resistance piston rod protector with a shortened labyrinth module and a reinforced axial shaft bearing. It is designed for operation in oil wells with reservoir fluid temperatures up to 150°С. The energy efficiency of the motors is achieved by increasing the supply voltage, which reduces the operating current by more than two-fold. The lower operating current reduces heat losses in the cable line and the motor heating rate, which in turn increases the service life of the unit.
“The new equipment was specifically designed to specifications of Rosneft-Stavropolneftegaz. So far, we have shipped twelve PED32-103 motors to the oil company for pilot testing. We expect the new equipment to reduce power consumption during oil production by more than 25%,” says Alnas Executive Director Sergei Sachenko.
