Large-scale exercises took place at the Belarusian Gas Processing Plant

Under the scenario of the exercises, elaborated by the plant service of labour protection and industrial safety, “accident” at the Belarusian Gas Processing Plant was to the uttermost similar to the events at the Russian Achinsk Oil Refinery, where on June 16, explosion occurred with further inflammation at the area of 400 sq.m. during start-up operations due to depressurization of a string and discharge of hydrocarbon gas at the gas-fractionation plant. The exercises were also carried out in accordance with the plan of accident-preventive, administrative and technical measures to ensure safe operation of production facilities of the plant.
Conclusion made by the headquarters of the exercises is as follows: the participants managed to localize the “accident” and liquidate its consequences promptly – for 35 minutes.
