Rimera's Czech Plant to Supply Valves for China's Nuclear Power Industry

AtomStroyExport, part of Rosatom State Corporation, is the general contractor on the project. The lot of ball valves will be used in construction of the third and fourth power units of Tianwan NPP in Jiangsu province. The valves have been already included in the MSA production plan. Shipments will be made between November 2014 and May 2015. The delivery will include special-design ball valves purpose-built for the nuclear power industry. The valve diameter is 2" to 4" and the working fluid is seawater for cooling the reactor.
“MSA Plant has been delivering valves for Tianwan NPP since 2002, with more than 400 units shipped so far. The nuclear power industry is not a core market for MSA by sales volume, unlike the oil and gas sector. Nonetheless, this market is of strategic importance for us. We supply products for the nuclear power industry not only outside the Russian Federation, but also cooperate with Rosatom State Corporation in deliveries for projects in Russia,” says MSA Management Board Chairman Vladimir Kononov.
The first two units of Tianwan NPP were commissioned in 2005. The next two units are scheduled to be launched in 2018. The NPP will ultimately have a total of eight power units.
