Innovative cables for power transmission lines will be manufactured in the Urals

The parties will promote production of new types of PTL cables with higher performance. Innovative cables allow for transmission of bigger amount of power compared with similar products commonly used today, withstand heavy wind loads, and are ice-resistant. At the same time, cables made in the Urals will be several times cheaper than the ones produced abroad.

The signatories to the letter of intent agreed to come up with a business plan for the project where all cost performance aspects of the new production facility would be specified.

MRSK Ural and representatives of Titanium Valley have already selected an industrial site located in the Verkhnyaya Salda urban district of the Sverdlovsk region. All required infrastructure – electrical, gas, heat supply networks, water lines – will be brought to the industrial site boundaries.

Besides, Rosseti JSC, a subsidiary of MRSK Ural JSC, is engaged in construction of Titan substation 110/10kV which will be a key source of electric power supply to the industrial facilities of Titanium Valley SEZ. It will also ensure priority development of the Ural region and increase its investment attractiveness. As of today, the site preparation is completed. Delivery of the equipment on site will commence as early as in August of this year.
