"Turboatom" is ready to supply the equipment for new Khankhikivi NPP

In December 2013, SC «Rosatom» (Russia) and the customer of Khankhikivi NPP the Finnish Fennovoima company concluded the contract for the construction of one unit of NPP.

On request of the Finnish customer the proposed equipment must be relevant having good operation experience. Relevant equipment in respect to Khankhikivi NPP is low speed turbines manufactured by OJSC "Turboatom" with the capacity of 1100 MW at 1500 rpm. These turbine units have been operating at NPP in Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria starting from 1982.

18 turbines of this type at working NPP have high indicators of reliability and efficiency and its structure provides performing erection and repair works with minimal expenses. At the moment, the erection of turbine manufactured by OJSC "Turboatom" with the capacity of 1100 MW on the unit No. 3 of Rostovskaya NPP in Russia is about to complete, the start-up is planned for 2014. The enterprise is manufacturing a similar turbine for the unit No.4 under construction of Rostovskaya NPP with supposed start-up in 2016.

A positive factor is the effective operation of 4 turbines manufactured by OJSC "Turboatom" with the capacity of 220 MW each one with reactors WWER-440 at Loviisa NPP in Finland.
